The Adams 4th of July Weekend

We started off the weekend on Thursday by going out to Buckeye Lake to watch the fireworks on my mom's boat. We went out to her camper and hung out until it was time to get on the boat and head out to get a good spot on the lake. The rocking of the boat on the water was so relaxing and peaceful, so much that my kids fell asleep before the fireworks even started. They missed out because the fireworks were really good this year!

The next day was rainy and nasty out in the morning so our family get together was canceled due to the fact that it was going to be held outdoors. We ended up going to my Grandma's for a little while and then we went to my husbands parents house for a cookout and some time with the family. Then we all walked down to the school in town to watch the fireworks. They have a bunch of stuff for the kids set up and some food stands and what not. We went over to the ball diamond (our designated spot every year) and set up our tarp and blanket as we waited for the fire works to begin. The kids stayed awake this time and really enjoyed the fireworks. I was not so thrilled with them this year. Maybe it was the rain but they just didn't seem as good as the previous years but the kids had fun and that is what matters right?

The next day some friends of ours invited us to a family celebration. We had a really good time. The kids played with the other kids, in the pool, and on the swing set. We also ate a lot of food that day. It was a really good day to be outside too it was gorgeous. Even though the weather was crappy most of the weekend, we didn't let that get us down and we had a wonderful 4th of July! Hope yours was good as well.

Sounds like you had a great 4th! We went on a boat to see fireworks, and it was a lot of fun. You got some really good pictures of them, too. My camera wouldn't cooperate :(
